The Bard on Avon is a traditional British pub, with all the usual ingredients - proper pints, pub grub, chattering locals and a cosy fireplace. Not to mention an exciting and ever changing music scene.
The musicians hail from all over the world, acts ranging from soloists to four piece combos, performing a blend of blues, acoustic roots, "dirty ole" pub covers, exciting originals and some interesting interpretations on past favourites.
New talent and music of interest is greatly encouraged at the well supported muso's den (Tues) and every night the superb resident musicians (Little Chuck Little; Willie McArthur; Mike Kane & The Teddies) are intermingled with exciting new talent (Aoife Carbin; Eddie McGuire; Solace).
Kicking up the heels to good time live music plays a massive role in the success of the The Bard. The main criterion, however, is to play acoustic music and to play it bloody well.
Open 'til late. Something goin' on every night :)
